The carpet weaving industry in Baghlan province has grown by 20 percent compared to last year. Local officials report that 115 new factories have been activated in the sector. This development has increased the total number of active units to 685.

The activation of these factories is attributed to the return of refugees from neighboring countries. The factories are mostly located in Dahana Ghori, Dand Ghori, Doshi, and around Pul-e Khumri. Previously, there were 570 active carpet production factories in the province.

The carpets produced in these facilities are of high quality. They are exported to some foreign countries. Selling prices range from 15 to 300 dollars per square meter.

This sector is one of Afghanistan's important export industries. It provides income for thousands of families. The recent growth demonstrates the ongoing activity in Baghlan's carpet weaving industry and its contribution to the national economy.
