
Chuck Norris, martial arts champion and actor, dies at 86
Chuck Norris, a martial arts champion and actor known for action roles, died on March 20 at age 86 in America.
His family issued a statement saying he "lived with faith, meaning, and commitment to those he loved" and inspired millions through his work and discipline.
Norris won the world karate championship in the middleweight category in 1968, a title he held for several years. He entered cinema in the late 1960s and appeared in more than 40 films and TV series.
Among his prominent works was "Way of the Dragon" (1972), in which he starred alongside Bruce Lee as a powerful opponent in a memorable Colosseum fight scene.
In "Lone Wolf McQuade" (1983), Norris played a Texas Ranger confronting criminal networks, including arms smugglers, amid a personal conflict involving his daughter's kidnapping. The film was one of his favorites.
"Double Impact" (1992) featured Norris in a family-oriented story about a teenager practicing martial arts inspired by his hero, promoting positive activities among youth.
The TV series "Walker, Texas Ranger" (1993-2001) was one of his most famous roles, portraying a law enforcement officer fighting crime with moral principles and martial arts skills. It aired in dozens of countries.
Norris also appeared in "The Expendables 2" (2012) alongside other action stars, drawing attention with his brief role and references to popular jokes about his persona.
Over the years, Norris was known for his image as a powerful, justice-seeking hero, accompanied by humorous narratives in popular culture.
