Clashes and Arrests Reported in Panjshir’s Paryan District

Local sources report that security forces have detained numerous civilians and imposed a strict curfew in Kujan village and the wider Paryan District of Panjshir province following a series of armed clashes. The security measures follow months of escalating tensions and intermittent violence in the region, which has experienced periodic instability.

According to local accounts, recent incidents in the district include the killing of a Taliban intelligence official identified as Mullah Gul Haydar, alongside an armed attack on a security outpost situated near the Paryan Mosque. In a separate nighttime operation in the Samher Valley, local sources state that Taliban forces encountered armed resistance, resulting in the deaths of three fighters and injuries to another.

In response to the violence, authorities have restricted movement in Kujan village, prohibiting residents from leaving their homes after the evening prayer. Local residents allege that security personnel have arrested a large number of civilians from the area and report that some detainees have been subjected to physical mistreatment during questioning.
