A modern cold storage facility has been completed and officially handed over in the Muhammad Agha district of Logar province. The infrastructure project, situated in the Mirzakheil area, was developed to assist local agricultural producers by providing secure storage for seasonal crops.

Engineer Nasiruddin Bahij, Director of Agricultural Affairs at the Logar provincial directorate, confirmed the completion of the facility and outlined its technical specifications. Bahij stated that the construction was fully funded by the Hailto Foundation. The project required a total investment of approximately 1.7 million to 2 million Afghanis.

The newly constructed unit is designed to hold up to 16 tons of agricultural produce. To ensure consistent and independent operation, the facility has been equipped with a dedicated 10-watt solar power system. Officials noted that the infrastructure will help local farmers preserve perishable harvests, reduce post-harvest losses, and stabilize market availability for regional crops.

The facility has now been transferred to local authorities for immediate operational use. Provincial agricultural representatives emphasized that expanding cold storage capacity remains a priority for supporting rural livelihoods and strengthening the local agricultural supply chain across Logar province. The handover marks a significant step in provincial agricultural development efforts.
