Construction Begins on Modern Recreational Complex in Khost City

Construction has commenced on a modern recreational complex in Khost city, marking a new development project aimed at expanding local amenities and stimulating regional investment. The facility will be built on approximately three jerebas of state-owned land located east of the provincial Mustowfat Directorate.

The project carries a total investment value of 105 million Afghanis. The land has been leased to the Harun al-Rashid Company under a 20-year agreement. Under the terms of the lease, the company will pay a monthly rent of 120,000 Afghanis to the provincial government, a significant increase from the previous rate of 15,000 Afghanis.

Provincial authorities and the investing firm have publicly welcomed the initiative. Mawlavi Sher Mohammad Zabi, a provincial official, stated that the project reflects ongoing government efforts to facilitate domestic investment and create employment opportunities for local residents. He emphasized that the administration continues to prioritize infrastructure and public service developments across the province.

Haji Karim Seddiqi, a representative of the Harun al-Rashid Company, echoed these sentiments, noting that the complex is designed to provide modern leisure facilities while contributing to the local economy. He indicated that the project will generate jobs during both the construction and operational phases.

Local residents and community leaders have also expressed support for the development, viewing it as a necessary step toward improving urban infrastructure. Alongside the recreational project, community members have called for continued expansion of industrial initiatives to further strengthen the provincial economy. The complex is expected to serve as a central hub for public gatherings and family activities once completed.
