
Construction Begins on New Terminal at Kandahar International Airport
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Afghan Verified) -- Construction has begun on a new passenger terminal and parking facility at Kandahar International Airport in southern Kandahar province, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation announced.
The project, which costs 800 million afghanis, will be implemented in two phases and completed within two and a half years, according to a statement from the ministry.
The new terminal will have the capacity to accommodate around 3,000 passengers and will include all necessary facilities, the ministry said.
Kandahar International Airport is a key aviation hub in southern Afghanistan, handling both domestic and international flights.
