Construction Begins on Oil and Gas Company Building in Maidan Wardak
Construction has officially commenced on a three-story administrative facility designated for the provincial management of the Islamic Emirate’s Oil and Gas Company in Maidan Wardak province. The development project is funded at a cost of 6.5 million Afghanis and was initiated following a recent series of infrastructure ceremonies in the region.
Provincial authorities and energy sector representatives attended the site to mark the beginning of the construction phase. Maulvi Hamidullah Shahidkhel, head of the provincial governor’s office, and Qari Khairullah Omari, general director of the provincial Oil and Gas Company, presided over the event. According to officials, the new structure will serve as the central administrative hub for the company’s provincial operations, aiming to streamline local energy sector management.
The groundbreaking for the administrative building follows the recent inauguration of a separate infrastructure project in Jalrez District. That initiative involved the construction of a 2.6-kilometer roadway, which was completed at a total cost of 7.77 million Afghanis. Provincial representatives have noted that both the new administrative facility and the recently completed road reflect ongoing efforts to develop public infrastructure and enhance institutional capacity within Maidan Wardak.
