Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has inaugurated the construction of 50 kilometers of the Qaisar-Laman ring road in Badghis province.

This significant infrastructure project is valued at more than 4.6 billion Afghanis. The entire budget is being provided by the Islamic Emirate. The Ministry of Public Works is overseeing the contract that has been granted to a construction company. The company is tasked with completing the road works within a period of three years.

The 50-kilometer portion that has now broken ground begins in the Muqur district and will reach all the way to the Balamorghab district, both located in Badghis province. This new segment forms an integral part of the larger national ring road system. The full Qaisar-Laman road starts its journey in Faryab province before moving through the districts of Badghis and then proceeding onward to Herat province.

Project officials have indicated that one of the immediate benefits will be the creation of job opportunities for people living in the surrounding areas while the road is being built. Looking further ahead, once the construction is finished, the road is anticipated to greatly improve conditions for travel in the region. It will make the transportation of goods, including important agricultural products, much more efficient. Furthermore, it is expected to bring down the costs related to transportation. These improvements are hoped to lead to an increase in trade activities between the connected areas.

The inauguration event was held during an official visit by the Deputy Prime Minister to Badghis province.
