Department of Standards and Quality Returns 23 Tons of Substandard Angle Iron
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Afghanistan's Department of Standards and Quality has returned 23 tons of substandard angle iron to the exporting country after comprehensive quality checks.
The department announced the action in a press release, stating the shipment was sent back via Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi port. The move aims to protect domestic markets and consumer rights by preventing the entry of materials that fail to meet national standards.
Officials from the department emphasized that quality verification and control processes for construction materials are conducted transparently, regularly and decisively at all ports across the country. They stressed there will be no flexibility shown toward importing substandard goods that could harm citizens' health and safety.
The department urged all traders and importers to strictly comply with domestic standards and fulfill their moral responsibility to foster a quality and healthy market environment.
This action underscores ongoing efforts to enforce import regulations amid concerns over substandard construction materials.
