Deputy Administrative Affairs Head: Commercial Life Must Align with Islamic Sharia

Maulvi Nazir Ahmad Nasser, deputy for policy at the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs, stated during a joint meeting on facilitating business and service licenses for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce that commercial life must be aligned with Islamic Sharia.

The meeting, led by Nasser, included representatives from the ministries of industry and commerce, finance, foreign affairs, economy, agriculture, irrigation and livestock, as well as the national administrations for environmental protection, statistics and information, and standards and quality.

Nasser added that every system has laws and principles, without which society suffers. He emphasized the need to calibrate commercial activities according to Islamic Sharia principles.

Mufti Abdul Wahid Usmani, head of policy and strategy at the Administrative Affairs Directorate, provided information on the topic. Participants then shared views and suggestions on easing license issuance.

Decisions reached included digitizing the license issuance process for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, linking the system to relevant departments, canceling security deposit requirements, making business plans optional, and activating online services for licenses.
