
Deputy Culture Minister Emphasizes Preservation of Shahr Ara Tower
KABUL (Afghan Verified) — Molvi Atiqullah Azizi, deputy for culture and art at the Ministry of Information and Culture, visited the historical Shahr Ara Tower accompanied by a technical team, officials and representatives from the Aga Khan Cultural Foundation.
Azizi described the tower as one of the country's important historical sites and stressed that its preservation and reconstruction represent a serious necessity for maintaining cultural heritage. He said the ministry is committed to initiating reconstruction work in the near future in coordination with partner institutions to prevent the site's destruction.
During the visit, the technical team assessed the tower's current condition and conducted necessary evaluations to ensure the reconstruction proceeds in a standard and principled manner.
Azizi also announced that reconstruction efforts for Doost Mohammad Khan High School and the mausoleum of Sultan Tala'i on Nader Khan Hill will begin soon, aiming to preserve and revive these historical and educational sites.
The Shahr Ara Tower holds a special position as a cultural asset from both historical and tourism perspectives.
