German Prosecutors Charge Afghan National in Plot to Assassinate Jewish Leaders

German federal prosecutors have charged an Afghan citizen identified as Tawab M. with complicity in a plot to assassinate Jewish leaders in Germany. The charges form part of a case involving an alleged Iranian intelligence operation.

The plot is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Quds Force. A Danish suspect named Ali S. is also involved in the case. Prosecutors allege that Ali S. worked for the intelligence apparatus of the IRGC and has close ties to the Quds Force.

Investigators say the network collected precise information about leaders of Jewish organizations in Germany. Among those identified as potential targets are Josef Schuster, the president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, and Volker Beck, the president of the German-Israeli Association.

The alleged plans included targeted assassinations and arson attacks against Jewish figures and centers on German soil. These activities were intended to carry out attacks within the country.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office announced the charges against the Afghan national. No response has been issued by the lawyers representing the defendants so far. The investigation continues as authorities examine the full extent of the alleged conspiracy and its connections to foreign entities.
