MUSA QALA, Helmand (Afghan Verified) -- Police in Helmand province's Musa Qala district recovered 12.75 million Pakistani rupees stolen from a money exchanger and arrested six suspects, Musa Qala district police chief Mawlawi Misbahullah Adil said.

The theft took place on the 25th day of Ramadan in the Nasir Khan Darbar area between Nawzad and Musa Qala districts, where the suspects stole around 36 million Pakistani rupees in total, Adil stated.

Acting on intelligence information, police launched an operation that led to the recovery of the cash and the arrest of the six suspects, according to Adil.

Two additional suspects remain at large, and efforts are underway to apprehend them. The detainees will be handed over to judicial authorities following preliminary investigations, Adil added.

The recovery represents a significant portion of the stolen amount, highlighting police efforts to combat theft in the region.
