Herat Launches First Electronic Work Permits System
HERAT CITY (Afghan Verified) -- The process of issuing electronic work permits for domestic and foreign nationals has been launched for the first time in western Herat province.
Director of Labour and Social Affairs Hafiz Mirza Mohammad Abu Mansoor said the initiative aims to simplify administrative services, reduce in-person visits, prevent overcrowding, expedite application reviews and enhance transparency in public service delivery.
Applicants can now submit work permit requests online and track the review, approval and issuance stages through the digital system, according to Abu Mansoor. The system allows users to register personal information, upload required documents, monitor application status and receive final responses online.
Abu Mansoor emphasized that the electronic system will standardize, accelerate and make service delivery more transparent, leading to greater satisfaction among citizens and domestic and foreign investors.
The launch comes amid increasing demand for digital services in government institutions, with citizens seeking simpler, faster and more transparent procedures for official services.
