Historical Artifact Handed Over to Baghlan Local Museum
BAGHLAN, Afghanistan -- A brass pot classified as a historical artifact was discovered and handed over to the local museum in Baghlan province.
Molvi Asadullah Mustafa Hashemi, head of the Information and Culture Directorate in Baghlan, told a reporter that the item had been kept illegally by residents in the Islam Qala Kileghi area of Dushi district.
The artifact was identified and confiscated through efforts by the Information and Culture Directorate in coordination with security forces, Hashemi said. It was then transferred to the Baghlan local museum.
Although the exact age remains undetermined, initial examinations indicate it dates back hundreds of years, according to Hashemi.
Hashemi emphasized protecting ancient sites and historical artifacts as a priority for his directorate. He urged Baghlan residents to cooperate in enriching the province's local museum.
