
Hundreds of Unidentified Bodies from Hope Camp Martyrs Held at Forensic Medicine Department
KABUL (Afghan Verified) - Dr. Sharaf Zaman Amarkhel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, stated that hundreds of unidentified bodies from the martyrs of the Hope Camp are currently held at the Forensic Medicine Department.
Amarkhel urged families of the martyrs to visit the department for identification and to collect the bodies.
He noted that funeral ceremonies have already been held for some of the martyrs, and the bodies of others have been handed over to their families.
The statement highlights the ongoing process of managing the aftermath of the incident at the Hope Camp, where numerous individuals lost their lives. The Ministry of Public Health is facilitating identification efforts to ensure the remains are returned to relatives.
Families have been specifically called upon to come forward promptly, as the department holds a significant number of bodies awaiting identification. This process is critical for providing closure to those affected.
According to Amarkhel, while progress has been made in conducting funerals and releasing some bodies, the majority remain unidentified, necessitating further family involvement.
