Governor Mohammad Ismail Ghaznavi of Badakhshan has ordered an immediate halt to all illegal mining and washing activities in the Shighnan district. The order comes after the governor chaired a meeting with mining officials and local miners to address widespread resident complaints regarding illegal extraction practices.

During the meeting, Governor Ghaznavi emphasized that no individual or company is permitted to operate within the mining sector without a valid legal permit and formal coordination with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. He stressed that all unauthorized activities must stop immediately to ensure the sector is properly regulated.

The governor further announced that the Islamic Emirate will soon publish new mining guidelines for applicants. He clarified that legal operations will only be permitted once these new guidelines are released and official permits have been issued to the operators.
