Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Reports Rapid Progress on TAPI Project

Zabiullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, announced significant progress on the TAPI gas pipeline project. One hundred thirty kilometers of the route have been leveled and ninety one kilometers of pipe installed.
The section running from the Turkmenistan border to the Herat Industrial Park covers one hundred fifty three kilometers. The full pipeline measures one thousand eight hundred fourteen kilometers, of which eight hundred sixteen kilometers pass through Afghanistan. It has an annual capacity of thirty three billion cubic meters of gas.
Work inside Afghanistan began in September two thousand twenty four and fifty two percent of the project has been completed. The Herat section is scheduled for completion by the end of two thousand twenty six.
The Islamic Emirate expects the pipeline to transform the economy of Herat province. Afghanistan is projected to receive millions of dollars in annual transit revenue as well as initial gas supplies of five hundred million cubic meters, rising later to one billion five hundred million cubic meters.
