Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, an affiliate of the Pakistani Taliban, issued a statement asserting that its military presence extends across multiple Pakistani cities without any requirement for territory in neighboring Afghanistan. The group listed active operations in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, and Islamabad.

The statement directly challenged Pakistani military leaders to confront the group inside Pakistan. It called on the regime to advance from Karachi to Khyber within its own borders rather than conducting operations elsewhere.

Jamaat-ul-Ahrar further stated that its entire military structure, personnel, and activities remain based inside Pakistan. The group declared it would engage Pakistani forces domestically.

The statement also condemned Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan civilians, describing them as unjustified actions taken under the pretext of targeting TTP militants.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan separately rejected claims linking attacks in Karachi to Afghanistan, calling such attributions baseless. It stated that aggression on Afghan soil would not go unanswered.

Pakistan has carried out airstrikes in Afghanistan citing the presence of TTP militants.

Reliability assessment

Single source provides direct attribution to on-record statements from named groups (Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan) with specific claims about presence, threats, and responses; the verifiable fact is that these statements were issued as reported.

The source language mixes facts with framing or advocacy wording. Hurriyat: "foolish attempts", "baseless and illogical", "terror, aggression, and this crime" – these phrases frame the Pakistani actions with strong negative judgment and emotional condemnation.
