
Jowzjan's Yetim Taq Gas Wells to Boost Daily Production to 125,000 Cubic Meters
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- Completion of new gas wells in the Yetim Taq area of Jowzjan province will increase daily gas output to 125,000 cubic meters, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced.
Ministry spokesman Hamaun Afghan posted on X that Mullah Mohammad Israel, Director General of Hydrocarbons, visited the site and emphasized accelerating the project. Israel issued instructions to relevant officials to expedite progress.
The project, valued at $7.5 million and contracted to a Turkish company, involves drilling two gas wells in Yetim Taq. Afghan's post highlighted Israel's directives during the visit to ensure timely completion and enhanced production capacity.
The announcement underscores efforts to expand natural gas resources in northern Afghanistan, with the new wells expected to significantly boost supply upon finishing the development work.
