A delegation from Uzbekistan visited Kabul to participate in a joint trade conference with Afghan officials and businessmen. The meeting served as a forum to explore ways to strengthen economic ties and increase cooperation across multiple sectors.

Nooruddin Azizi, Afghan Minister of Industry and Commerce, described the relationship between Kabul and Tashkent as constructive and expanding. He highlighted potential areas for collaboration, including textiles, cotton processing, leather industries, and machinery transfer.

Nazimjan Khalmuradov, Head of the Light Industries Development Agency of Uzbekistan, noted Afghanistan's capacities in cotton, silk, and leather. He stated that Uzbekistan is prepared to invest in the textile sector, cotton processing, and the establishment of joint factories to support expanded investments and job creation.

Several memorandums of understanding were signed between private sector representatives from both countries during the conference. Traders from Afghanistan and Uzbekistan also displayed products on the sidelines, featuring textiles, fresh and dried fruits, carpets, and precious stones.

Discussions further addressed opportunities in agriculture and livestock, with both sides underscoring the value of deeper commercial engagement to benefit producers and economies in each country.
