
Kabul Prepares to Host Second Ariana Snooker Championship May 11-22, 2026
Kabul is preparing to host the second round of the Ariana Snooker Championship from May 11 to 22, 2026.
An official signing ceremony for the production and broadcast contract between Ariana Radio and Television Network and the Afghanistan Billiards and Snooker Federation is scheduled for April 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Kabul. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Ariana Radio and Television Network, Ariana Sport's Facebook page, and YouTube.
The tournament will feature approximately 60 male players from across Afghanistan, including teenagers, youth, and experienced competitors. Matches will be broadcast live daily from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. exclusively on Ariana Television.
The event follows the success of last year's championship, which drew high viewership nationwide. Snooker is gaining popularity in Afghanistan as an accessible sport that can be enjoyed from homes across the country.
