Kabul's Nileh Bagh Residential Project Reaches Nearly 60% Completion

KABUL (Afghan Verified) — The Nileh Bagh residential project in Kabul, implemented in cooperation with China, has reached nearly 60% construction progress and is expected to be completed by Hoot 1405.

Officials from the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing said the project, built on 106 jeribs of land, includes 56 residential blocks with 1,400 apartments capable of housing nearly 5,000 people. Nearly 400 Afghan workers and 100 Chinese workers and engineers are employed on the site.

Kamal Afghan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, said: "The Nileh Bagh project is being implemented in cooperation with China, it is ten thousand houses, and the remaining houses will be built in other parts of Kabul city. In this regard, suitable areas have been identified by the mentioned ministry so that the remaining blocks can be developed in those areas."

Khushhal, an engineer from the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, said: "On average, this project has the capacity to house nearly five thousand people. Also, nearly 400 Afghan workers and nearly 100 Chinese workers and engineers are busy working on it."

The project was inaugurated on 19 Hamal 1403 with a $71 million investment by a Chinese company. Economic experts say such initiatives can contribute to economic growth, job creation and improved living conditions, provided there is transparency in implementation and distribution.
