Million-Dollar Industrial Investment in Balkh Creates Around 40 Jobs
An industrial company operating in Mazar-e-Sharif has invested nearly one million dollars in setting up a facility equipped with advanced machinery for manufacturing water tanks, gas tanks, oil tanks and molds. This development is seen as part of the growing industrial activity in the northern province of Balkh.
The new investment has led to the employment of around 40 people, Javid Mohibi, deputy of the company, said. He highlighted the use of modern equipment in the production process.
In a related development, Nasir Ahmad Niazi, the deputy head of Balkh's Industry and Commerce Department, provided statistics on licensing in the sector. He reported that 284 new trade and industrial licenses were issued in the province over the past year. In the same period, 572 licenses belonging to trading companies and production factories were renewed, according to Niazi.
Niazi further stated that investment in the industrial sector has risen since the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assumed power. He said there has been notable growth in the number of production companies, particularly in Balkh. Despite this progress, the shortage of electricity continues to pose a significant challenge to industrial operations in Mazar-e-Sharif, he added.
