Ministry of Information and Culture Committed to Preservation and Reconstruction of Historical Monuments

The Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is committed to the preservation and reconstruction of historical monuments in the country.

Spokesperson Khabib Ghafaran stated this on the International Day of Monuments, observed on April 18 as designated by UNESCO.

Ghafaran said that the ministry completed the reconstruction of 23 historical monuments in solar year 1404.

The sites are in the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Bamiyan, Laghman, Paktia, Paktika and Helmand.

The ministry surveyed around 70 historical monuments, leading to 15 new artifacts being registered.

Ghafaran called for public cooperation in protecting the cultural heritage, noting that Afghanistan is rich in historical monuments.

The spokesperson detailed the ministry's work in multiple provinces to highlight its commitment to cultural preservation.

These efforts in solar year 1404 across the mentioned provinces represent a significant part of the work done to maintain the country's historical legacy.

By surveying around 70 monuments and registering 15 new artifacts, the ministry is expanding its knowledge and protection of these important sites.

The call for cooperation from the public is aimed at ensuring that all Afghans participate in safeguarding this rich heritage.

The ministry's activities in Kabul, Kandahar, Bamiyan, Laghman, Paktia, Paktika and Helmand show a nationwide approach to the issue of historical monument preservation and reconstruction.
