Ministry of Water and Energy Hands Over Five Million Afghani Irrigation Project in Laghman
KABUL (Afghan Verified) - The Ministry of Water and Energy announced the completion and handover for use of a dam, canal and protective wall project in the Kahanapal area of Alishing district, Laghman province.
Funded by the World Food Programme at a cost of five million Afghanis, the project includes an 18-meter dam, a 65-meter canal and a 161-meter protective wall.
The ministry stated that the infrastructure will irrigate approximately 300 jeribs of agricultural land and benefit nearly 450 families in the area.
The announcement highlights ongoing efforts to improve irrigation and support agricultural productivity in rural districts. Specific details provided by the ministry include the precise dimensions of the structures and the quantified benefits for local farmers.
This project is part of broader initiatives by the Ministry of Water and Energy to develop water resources and enhance food security through international partnerships.
