National Procurement Commission Approves 19 Projects Worth 2.8 Billion Afghanis
The National Procurement Commission convened for a regular meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund. During the session, officials approved nineteen development projects with a combined estimated value of approximately 2.8 billion Afghanis.
The newly sanctioned initiatives span multiple critical sectors, including telecommunications equipment, road construction, and power supply and distribution. Funding for these projects will be drawn directly from the national budget of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
In addition to the new approvals, the commission reviewed and adjusted the parameters of four previously proposed projects. Officials also established a specialized committee tasked with conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the procurement procedures and associated costs for one additional initiative. This review will focus on verifying financial allocations and ensuring adherence to established administrative guidelines.
The commission’s decisions align with broader economic planning objectives aimed at strengthening national infrastructure and expanding essential public services across the country. Once administrative formalities are finalized, the approved initiatives will proceed to the implementation stage under the oversight of relevant technical ministries.
