Over 27.5 Million Jeribs of Pastureland Registered in Three Provinces: Ministry of Justice
KABUL (Afghan Verified) -- A commission under the Ministry of Justice has confirmed and registered more than 27.57 million jeribs of public pastureland in Faryab, Badghis and Badakhshan provinces over the past year, according to a ministry statement.
The breakdown includes 9.321 million jeribs in Faryab, 4.167 million jeribs in Badghis and more than 14 million jeribs in Badakhshan. The pasturelands, spanning provincial centers and districts, were assessed by a commission-appointed committee and officially entered into the land bank.
The Ministry of Justice stated that similar evaluation processes are ongoing in other provinces. Ariana News referred to the body as the Land Anti-Encroachment Commission, while Pajhwok called it the Land Grab Prevention and Restitution Commission and Hurriyat the Land Usurpation Prevention and Recovery Commission.
Hurriyat reported that in the past five years, hundreds of thousands of jeribs of previously usurped land across Afghanistan have been returned to relevant authorities.
