Security forces in Chora district of Uruzgan province discovered and destroyed 2,250 kilograms of opium narcotics in the Khoja Khedr and Nuri areas, the province's media office reported.

The narcotics were seized by security forces and later burned on site. Officials from the province's media office confirmed the operation, highlighting the forces' efforts to combat drug-related activities.

Security officials stated that no tolerance will be shown toward narcotics cultivation, production, purchase or sale. They emphasized that violators will face legal action without exception.

The officials further noted that since the Islamic Emirate's return to power, a strict anti-narcotics campaign has been underway nationwide. They claimed such incidents have been reduced to zero across the country as a result of these measures.

Uruzgan province, located in southern Afghanistan, has been a focus for security operations amid ongoing efforts to curb narcotics production and trafficking. The destruction of the opium cache underscores the commitment to eradicating drug activities in the region.
