Paktika security officials prevented the illegal transportation of timber in Sharana and surrounding areas of the province.
Paktika Police Command media official Mullah Mohammad Ismail Muawiya stated that three cargo trucks, six Toyota vehicles, and one Hilux vehicle were seized while illegally transporting timber. The vehicles had originated from Spera district of Khost and Barmal, Nika, and Zirok districts of Paktika, with the timber intended for transport to Ghazni province.
The drivers of the seized vehicles were arrested and are under legal investigation. Forest protection efforts and actions against timber smuggling are ongoing across multiple provinces.
