BAMYAN, Afghanistan (Afghan Verified) -- Ski competitions sponsored by Afghan Wireless took place in Bamyan province, attracting 230 athletes from Bamyan, Ghazni and Maidan Wardak provinces.
The events were held on the snowy slopes of Chup Darreh Shah Fuladi, featuring competitions in amateur, professional and local categories, as well as three age groups.
In the professional category, Syed Ruhullah took first place, followed by Ali Agha in second and Sayed Hadi in third. Asif won the amateur category, with Shir Hussain second and Noor Agha third. Hassan Ali claimed first in the local category, ahead of Shamsullah and Mohammad.
Rajab Ali Fetrat, deputy of Technical and Vocational Physical Education and Sports for Bamyan province, praised Afghan Wireless for its support and called for continued backing to develop winter sports.
Shah Agha, the event organizer, also requested ongoing cooperation from the sponsor. Athlete Ali Asgari expressed similar appreciation.
Officials noted that Bamyan province is well-suited for winter sports and has hosted previous competitions, highlighting the potential for growth in the sector.
