Herat security officials have arrested a suspect accused of shooting and killing a car owner after an attempted vehicle theft.
The incident occurred on the first day of Muharram in the fourth security district of the city.
Sayed Masoud Hussaini, spokesman for the Herat security command, said security forces identified and arrested the suspect through investigations and intelligence operations.
The suspect confessed to the crime and the case has been referred to judicial and prosecutorial authorities.
