The Taliban have taken five residents from Panjshir province into custody. These individuals face charges related to the possession of weapons as well as connections to opponents of the Taliban. The detentions were carried out in the wake of an explosion that led to the destruction of a Taliban military vehicle in the Dara district. This incident took place during the previous week.
Among the arrested individuals are a university professor by the name of Abdul Malik. He is from Abdullah Khil village, which is located in the Dara district. His father, Mohammad Akbar, was also detained along with him. The other three individuals have not been identified in the reports from local sources.
The operation appears to be part of a larger effort by the Taliban in the region. More than thirty residents of the Dara district were initially detained by Taliban forces on the fifth of Jawza. Some of these people have been released since then, although the current status of the remaining detainees is not specified.
A claim has been made by the Green Process movement regarding the explosion. This movement is affiliated with Amrullah Saleh. It announced that its Green Unit forces were responsible for destroying a Taliban vehicle. The vehicle was carrying ten members at the time, and the incident occurred in the Dara Abdullah Khil area of Panjshir.
No official comment has been issued by the Taliban in response to these reports. The information is based entirely on local sources within Panjshir province. There has been no independent confirmation of the details surrounding the arrests or the explosion.
