Taliban spokesperson claims attacks on Pakistani military posts along eastern border
KABUL (Afghan Verified) — Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, claimed that Taliban forces have launched attacks on Pakistani military posts along the eastern Afghanistan border, capturing several outposts.
In an audio message on X, formerly Twitter, Mujahid stated the operations began in response to Pakistani incursions into Afghan territory. He claimed 15 Pakistani posts had been seized, including two in the Mashin Naw area of Dor Baba district, Nangarhar province; three in the Anargi area of Gushde district, Nangarhar; two in the Doklam area of Nari district, Kunar province; and four near Khost province. Mujahid said many Pakistani soldiers had been killed and others captured, adding that Pakistan had assumed Afghanistan was defenseless.
Amu TV reported Mujahid's claim of 15 posts captured, while Hasht-e Subh cited a statement from him specifying seven posts taken at the three Nangarhar and Kunar locations. Hasht-e Subh said the operations involved wide laser units along the Durand Line, targeting Pakistani forces under cover of night, and were retaliation for Pakistani airstrikes in Nangarhar and Paktika provinces that killed several Nangarhar residents and destroyed homes.
Mustagfir Garbaz, spokesperson for the Taliban governor in Khost, claimed reactive operations had started in border areas of the province, with clashes ongoing in Zazi Maidan district.
Pakistan's government has not yet responded to the claims.
