Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy Taliban spokesperson, stated that Pakistan's military attacks targeted border areas in several provinces including Paktia, Paktika, Khost and Nuristan, resulting in civilian casualties and damage.
According to Fitrat, mortar shells struck Kot Qali village in Dand Patan district of Paktia and Zazi Maidan district of Khost, killing three civilians and wounding four others.
He added that Pakistani howitzer and artillery fire destroyed several houses in Shakhin district of Paktika, Kamdesh of Nuristan, and Zazi Maidan of Khost. In Shakhin, 12 mortar rounds and 14 artillery shells targeted civilian homes and some public facilities, mostly hitting empty land, abandoned houses and areas near the local police command, with no casualties reported there. Around 90 mortar and artillery shells were fired in Bermel district of Paktika.
In Zazi Maidan of Khost, several villages have been targeted with heavy weapons since morning, wounding at least one civilian and forcing some families to flee their homes. In Nuristan's Kamdesh area, villages of Nowabad, Donije and Daba were damaged, with several houses partially destroyed and about 20 livestock killed.
The clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani military have entered their 13th day.
Qatar's prime minister described the military tensions between Taliban and Pakistani forces as worrying and a threat to regional stability in an interview with Sky News. Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations claimed that Afghanistan under Taliban rule has become a base for terrorist groups including TTP, ISIS-Khorasan and al-Qaeda, and alleged India is using Afghan-based militants against Pakistan.
Both sides claim to have inflicted heavy casualties on each other, figures that cannot be independently verified. Amu TV findings indicate Pakistani jets targeted Taliban military bases in Kabul, Kandahar and several other provinces during this period.
