Testing Bench for Three-Phase Electricity Meters Activated in Khost

A specialized testing bench for three-phase electricity meters, valued at fifty thousand dollars, has been installed and activated at the Khost Provincial Electricity Directorate. The facility was established in accordance with the approved operational plan of the Commercial Directorate of the Afghanistan Electricity Company.

Khost Electricity Director Mawlawi Ezzatullah Mukhlis stated that the new equipment will enhance the accuracy of electricity meters and strengthen local quality control measures. He noted that the installation will allow technical assessments to be conducted within the province, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Kabul or other regions for meter verification. According to Mukhlis, the initiative is expected to improve service transparency and operational efficiency for local consumers.

Khost Governor Mawlawi Abdullah Mukhtar emphasized the provincial administration’s commitment to supporting infrastructure upgrades within the energy sector. He stated that local authorities will continue to assist the Electricity Directorate in standardizing its operations and ensuring transparent service delivery. Mukhtar added that these efforts are part of a broader strategy to improve public utilities and address technical challenges at the provincial level.

The testing bench is designed to calibrate and verify three-phase meters, which are commonly used for commercial and industrial power distribution. By enabling local diagnostics, provincial officials anticipate a reduction in service delays and an increase in billing accuracy. The activation of the facility marks a step toward decentralizing technical maintenance and expanding reliable electricity services across the province.
