
Two Individuals Arrested for Alcohol Smuggling Attempt at Hairatan Port
Afghan border police have foiled an attempt to smuggle alcoholic beverages from Uzbekistan at Hairatan port, arresting two individuals in the process. This port is located on the border between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. The smuggling attempt was foiled by the border police who found the beverages hidden inside a vehicle that had arrived from Uzbekistan.
Abidullah Faruqi, the spokesperson for the Border Police at the Ministry of Interior, provided information about this incident. Faruqi explained that the two individuals were arrested following the discovery of the hidden alcoholic beverages in the Uzbek vehicle.
In his statement, the spokesperson stressed the importance of the border police's vigilance. He said that such vigilance has significantly reduced the levels of smuggling at the Hairatan port. This reduction is a positive outcome of the dedicated work by the security forces at the border.
Additionally, Faruqi mentioned that the officials are not only focusing on preventing smuggling but are also making efforts to facilitate travel for passengers. These efforts are being carried out in accordance with international standards and principles.
