A high-level delegation from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture arrived in Kabul on Wednesday, led by Deputy Minister Jamshid Abdurazzaqov, Pajhwok Afghan News reported.

The visit aims to expand cooperation in agriculture, livestock and horticulture sectors, as well as strengthen economic ties, according to the report. The delegation is set to review horticulture projects, enhance technical cooperation and hold meetings with officials and specialists from Afghanistan's Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MoAIL).

Afghanistan's MoAIL Minister Molvi Ataullah Omari met with the Uzbek deputy minister, identified by Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA) as Abdulkhafiz Jamshid, to discuss broadening bilateral ties in agriculture, livestock, horticulture, research, training and investment.

The Uzbek side expressed readiness for joint projects in provinces including Kabul, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Faryab, Jowzjan, Balkh, Kunduz and Takhar, focusing on improved seeds, horticulture and livestock development. Commitments were made for establishing labs, orchards, seed production, training programs, poultry farms and introducing new technologies, RTA reported.

Both sides highlighted the increase in Afghan agricultural exports to Uzbekistan and emphasized the adoption of modern farming methods and farm development. An agreement was reached to develop joint agricultural cooperation.
