Uzbekistan Border Forces Seize 190.8 kg of Hashish Hidden in Pots from Afghanistan
Uzbekistan's border forces discovered 190.8 kilograms of hashish concealed inside 210 double-walled pots aboard a truck transporting 750 pots from Afghanistan.
The truck was driven by a 36-year-old man from Surkhandarya province who had been previously placed under surveillance. Uzbek state security services announced the seizure through the Report agency.
The vehicle was en route from a factory in Afghanistan to a company in a Central Asian country. Border guards inspected the cargo near the Afghan border and uncovered the drugs hidden within the specially modified pots.
This incident follows a pattern of recent drug seizures at the same border crossing. Over the past two weeks, Uzbekistan's border forces have confiscated dozens of kilograms of drugs originating from Afghanistan.
On the previous day, the Collective Security Treaty Organization's (CSTO) working group on Afghanistan voiced concerns about the unstable security situation in the country and the ongoing drug trafficking across its borders.
