Vehicle linked to Taliban official injures girls in Kabul attack

A white Land Cruiser without license plates and with blacked-out windows struck a group of girls walking in Kabul's sixth security district on 17 Jawza, injuring at least three.
Informed sources said the vehicle belongs to Maulvi Ehsanullah Ehsan, the Taliban official in charge of the Islam Qala customs office. The vehicle fled to the official's house after the incident.
Khalid Zadran, Taliban police spokesman in Kabul, confirmed the attack occurred in the sixth security district and that at least three girls were injured. On 25 Jawza, Zadran announced that the perpetrator had been arrested and was under interrogation.
The Taliban suspended the duties of the head of the Islam Qala customs office and referred the case to a military court. Taliban officials contacted the families of the injured girls, offered compensation, and asked them to remain silent about the incident.
Reports differ on the condition of the injured girls. The Taliban spokesman stated their condition is satisfactory, while informed sources said two are in critical condition.
