A vehicle terminal built at a cost of five million Afghanis has been handed over for use at the Torghundi port in Herat province. The facility covers twenty jeribs of land and is intended to improve services for drivers, transport companies, and cargo trucks entering from Turkmenistan.
Aminullah Ghoryani and Abdul Ghafur Barialai stated that the terminal will organize vehicle movements and provide additional facilities. All cargo vehicles entering Afghanistan from Turkmenistan must stop at the site to complete procedures before continuing.
Construction of a mosque, hotel, shops, and other facilities at the terminal is underway. Torghundi port is one of the important commercial and transit ports in Afghanistan's western zone.
