Work has started on two major projects in Herat province, while three completed projects have been handed over for public use.

The new initiatives include the construction of a twelve-story commercial center costing one and a half billion afghanis. This project is expected to take four years to complete, although the first three floors are scheduled to be finished within one year at a cost of one hundred fifty million afghanis. The commercial center will also feature a two-story parking lot with space for about one thousand five hundred vehicles.

Separately, construction of an underground facility in front of the Herat regional hospital has begun.

The three projects now in use are the theater building in Herat city, the asphalting of Shahidi road, and the underground facility at Chawk Gulha.

All projects are funded from domestic revenues of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Herat governor Sheikh Maulana Islamjar stated that these efforts rely entirely on internal resources. Maulvi Abdul Ahad Khairkhwah provided further details about the scope and timeline of the works.

The projects are designed to help reduce traffic congestion, support economic development, and provide improved facilities for the people of Herat.
