Herat province officials have provided an update on the status of the TAPI gas pipeline project. They indicate that the project has made significant strides in recent times. The overall progress stands at 60 percent within the province.

84 kilometers of the pipeline have already been laid along the designated route. In support of this effort, 130 kilometers of the terrain have been graded to facilitate construction. Furthermore, 108 kilometers have been prepared specifically for the laying of the pipeline.

The construction work commenced from the border with Turkmenistan. It initially began in the Rabat Sangi district of Herat. The project has since progressed and reached the Zinda Jan district.

Mohammad Yousuf Saidi, who acts as the spokesman for the Herat governor, shared these details. He emphasized that the work is continuing without encountering any obstacles at the present time. The target for completing the entire project remains the end of the current solar year.

The pipeline laying process involves several preparatory steps that have been completed in substantial portions. Grading the land ensures a stable foundation for the pipes. Preparation of sections allows for efficient installation once materials arrive on site.

The districts mentioned are key areas along the path of the pipeline in Herat. Starting from the northern border area allows for a logical progression southward or eastward depending on the route design. Reaching Zinda Jan marks a notable milestone in the local segment of the project.

No obstacles mean that the timeline is on track as planned by the authorities involved. Completion by the end of the year would represent a major achievement for the project in this region.
