In Bamiyan province's Yakawlang district, a tragic event unfolded on Wednesday evening near the village of Shamsuddin. The family involved was spending time in the mountains due to summer pasture needs when the attack occurred.
Four armed men approached with the intention of abducting the family's 12-year-old girl. Mohammad Amin, who is described as a young man, stood up to the abductors in an effort to protect his sister. As a result of his resistance, the abduction did not succeed. Tragically, Mohammad Amin lost his life during this confrontation with the armed group.
Later developments saw one of the attackers meet his end. This particular attacker, who had once been part of the Taliban and had a record of killing his wife, was involved in a clash with Taliban on Friday morning. The clash took place in the mountains, leading to his death.
Currently, the three other men who participated in the initial attempt are still at large, with no information on their whereabouts or capture. As of now, the Taliban have not provided any official response or comment about the killing or the subsequent clash.
