SHARAN, Afghanistan (Afghan Verified) -- The Yusuf Khil district team took first place in spear throwing competitions held in Sharan city, the capital of Paktika province, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Paktika's physical education and sports official told Bakhtar News that 27 teams participated in the event.
The official said the Yusuf Khil district team finished first, followed by the Etifaq team in second place and the Yusufkhil B team in third place.
The competitions aimed to promote spear throwing as a sport and provide healthy recreation for youth and other residents, the official added. At the conclusion of the events, sports department officials in Paktika awarded cash prizes and gifts to the winning teams.
